After the success of the first conference in 2007, the Social Sector Conference of Barcelona continues this year with its third edition.

The Board composed of 29 organizations of the second level, made up of more than 3,000 non-profit social organizations: associations, foundations, social cooperatives and integration companies.

The objectives of the conference are to strengthen the identity of the sector, develop new social laws and services and highlight the importance of alliances between the sector and government entities.

The opening ceremony this year will be held by M.H. Mr. Jordi Pujol, Former President of Generalitat de Catalunya and former activist during the Franco era and also Ms. Vera Zamagni, former vice president of Regional Government of Emilia-Romany and composer of over 70 essays regarding social imbalances in Italy.

The conference takes place in CCIB centre, an area well connected to the city by direct metro line. From 7th to 10th April 2011 the Montjuïc Venue is home to the International Conference for Tourism, classified by geographical areas and tourism themes.

The conference is opened to both trade visitors and the public. The 7th April however is exclusively for travel professionals. A dedicated day featuring targeted seminars and is the platform for networking and seeking new development opportunities. About sixty companies will be showcasing their products to guest travel agencies.

The fair will also contain various sections in the tourism sector including Sport, Gastronomy, Cruises, LGTB and much more, making it quite an attractive event for the public.  There will be tasting sessions of regional food and wine and enjoying live performances from all five continents. Algeria is this year´s guest country and Bilbao is guest city.

It will take place in Halls 1, 2, 3 (Plaça de l’Univers), in the beautiful setting of Montjuïc.
