In September 2012 the Liceu Theatre of Barcelona will host the orchestra, chorus and soloists of the Bayreuth Festival with three operas by Wagner in concert version. This event will be the first activity in a series of cultural events related to the commemoration of the bicentennial of Wagner’s birth.

Now, 57 years after that milestone, which older fans still remember with awe, the theater will once again host the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and Chorus, with renowned singers who we will hear singing concert versions of three major works by Wagner: Der Fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman), Lohengrin and Tristan und Isolde, under the direction of Sebastian Weigle and Peter Schneider.
