The International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition (SIL 2013) will celebrate its fifteenth edition from the 18th to the 20th of June at the Montjuic-Plaza España venue at Fira de Barcelona, instead of the Gran Via one. ENETS (European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society) will hold its 10th Annual Conference in Barcelona, 6-8 March 2013. The conference venue is the Centro de Convenciones Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB).

The preliminary program includes a postgraduate course and keynote talk by ENETS Chairman Kjell Öberg, Meet the Professor sessions and lectures on histopathology, clinical trials, lung NETs, rare tumors, and surgery, as well as abstract sessions and nurses symposium. The deadline to submit an abstract was 9 December 2012 and no late submissions are being accepted. All ENETS members are welcome and anyone else interested in NET research and clinical practice to attend the conference.

The ENETS 2013 Annual Conference has been awarded 16 European CME credits by the EACCME.
The Society is also pleased to announce, in cooperation with Ipsen Pharma and in connection with the ENETS 2013 Barcelona conference, its 2013 Excellence in Translational Medicine in GEP-NET Disease fellowship. Society members, currently numbering nearly 1,000, bring a variety of expertise from such fields as oncology, pathology, radiology, nuclear medicine, endocrinology, surgery and gastroenterology, to ENETS. ENETS has gradually attracted members from throughout Europe, and has expanded into the new EU member states, Russia, Australia, South America, Canada, China, India, and the U.S. At the same time, the Society has formed valuable relationships within the pharmaceutical industry, namely with Novartis Pharma AG in Basel, Switzerland, and IPSEN Biotech in Paris and also Pfizer. ENETS cooperates with the German Neuroendocrine Tumor Network (NET-WORKs), UKI-NETs, and similar organizations in most member countries.

The New Mobile World Centre of Barcelona will open on February 14 2013, before the next Mobile World Congress (February 25-28th 2013). It will be an open platform and state of the art exhibition showroom where citizens are able to understand and experience how mobile is enhancing our lives.

Located in the heart of Barcelona, the MWCentre will bring mobile technology closer to all citizens, share a global vision of the mobile future and be a source of information for the other Mobile World Capital channels. The MWCentre, the main portal to the world of mobile communications for the general public, will be situated in Barcelona’s Plaza de Catalunya. Its three floors will house a shopping space, an area dedicated to the circulation and experimentation of the latest mobile technologies and a section for holding temporary events and exhibitions.

During its last meeting of 2012, the Board of the Mobile World Capital Foundation defined the action plans for 2013 and analysed the various initiatives that are being implemented to develop the MWCapital. The official inauguration of Mobile World Centre (MWCentre) and the location of the Mobile World Hub (MWHub) -home of the industrial project- in the emblematic Media-TIC building were some of the topics covered.

The industrial heart of MWCapital will be the Media-TIC building, situated in Barcelona’s 22@technological district. The centre will occupy two floors and 2,800 m2 that will house the MWCapital offices and the Capabilities and Competence Centres, in charge of providing Barcelona with the tools and resources needed to drive the different industrial projects. In this unique building, designed by the Cloud-9 architectural studio and a yardstick in energy sustainability, will also house GSMA’s offices in Barcelona.
