September is here and the city livens up after a month of vacation. Here are some fun things to do this month:
La Mercè - The biggest festival in the city is not to be missed! For more than a week there are plenty of activities in the city center, both day and night. There are human towers, concerts, correfocs, fireworks, street art and activities for kids, in other words something for everyone!
Palo Alto Market - This popular food and design market is back after its summer vacation, go there for some good street food, live music and shopping for cool local design items.
Lady Gaga - The pop superstar Lady Gaga is coming to visit Barcelona and has scheduled two concerts, September 21st and 22nd at Palau Sant Jordi. If you manage to get tickets you are in for quite a show.
Festa Major del Poblenou - All of the larger neighbourhoods in Barcelona have their own festival, and in September it is Poblenou’s turn. This neighbourhood is up-and- coming in Barcelona, so we are certain that it will be just a tad cooler than any of the other neighbourhood festivals.
Titanic, the Reconstruction - In the Maritim Museum of Barcelona you can find this interesting exhibition based around the largest model of the Titanic ever built, at a 1/30 scale. You can see inside the model and get to know the ship from the inside, including the cabins and the machine room. In addition to this you can get to know some of the stories of the passengers, and see some of the original items from the ship.
