From 2 to 4 November 2012 comes the 2nd edition of Barcelona Sustainability Jam, a global event related to the design and sustainability present in more than 60 cities (as Madrid, Tel Aviv, Berlin,  Milan, Oslo, London, New York, San Francisco, São Paulo, Hong Kong, Melbourne) and with 2,000 participants from around the world, that come together to participate in an exercise of creative improvisation.

Barcelona Sustainability Jam

The event promotes entrepreneurship and it is open to designers, sustainability experts, biologists, students, professors, businessmen and artists, working in different teams to create new ideas through ideation agile methodologies.
Barcelona Sustainability Jam offers in 48 hours, and with the participation of 40 to 50 designers from all disciplines, creating ideas that can be converted into a specific design or a plan of action. It ranges from a service, a physical device, an initiative, a network, or something no one has already thought. That is the challenge of the Barcelona Sustainability Jam. The Jam main theme is the sustainability and a specific topic that will be revealed during the event weekend. It will work with tools, methods, people, ideas and the exchange of different application fields.

Barcelona Sustainability Jam will live in the Coperfield for Social Good space, located in the Plaza Real, in the Barcelona historical center. It begins on Friday November 2 at 17.00h and ends on Sunday November 4 at the same time. Proposals will be published in each of the sites or social networks that every city has prepared to share. Today is the world architecture day and in Barcelona starts the international design week. The Barcelona Design Week 2012 will open its doors from 01 to 05 October to celebrate the seventh edition of an event that is positioned as the main design and business benchmark in Barcelona and one of the leading Design Weeks within the international calendar.

BCN Design Week, organised by BCD Barcelona Design Centre, is an international event focused on design, innovation and business addressed to those companies and professionals in any industry or productive services that use knowledge and creativity as a driver of its business activity.
Since 2006 this platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences around the world of design annually attracts companies and internationally renowned speakers. During the six previous editons, the BCN Design Week has been participated by more then 140 renowned experts and up to 6.000 attendees who had the opportunity to learn, share and discuss various topics that mark the current agenda of the design and innovation sector.

FadFest, Barcelona Design Festival 2012

From 26 June to 12 July, Barcelona will be the international capital of creativity and design with FADfest.
FADfest is the FAD’s annual event celebrating creative excellence. It recognises the work of professionals and businesses and brings design closer to the citizens.

Fadfest 2012, Barcelona Design

A showcase in which to discover the best proposals of the year in architecture, interior design, graphic design, advertising, industrial design, the handicrafts, art and fashion that is held in Barcelona between 26 June and 12 July as part of the Barcelona Design Festival, which continues until October 2012.

This is the most important design meeting in Barcelona. The FAD awards will be presented at the festival, where more than 500 works by the finalists will go on display. To enjoy the works of the winners and finalists in the different prizes, you’ll have to visit the “FADexpo: the best design of the year”, which will remain open until 22 september at the FAD headquarters (Pl. dels Àngels 5-6 of Barcelona). The second edition of the FADfest will be a fortnight filled with prizes, conferences, debates, talks and many other activities connected with design.
