From 28th to 31 January 2013 the Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB) Barcelona will host the 10th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion, an independent fashion designers expo. An international jury will award the prize to the best new collection made by independant designers.

080 Barcelona Fashion aims to turn Barcelona and Catalonia into a benchmark for creativity, innovation and both design generation and projection in the fashion industry, in the broadest sense of the word. Catalonia and the city of Barcelona have a long tradition in the textile industry for centuries, and the current situation allows us to talk about a consolidation of the design with a distinctive sign, in various fashion areas, such as production, distribution, sales, as well as their promotion.
This is the commitment of the government of the Generalitat de Catalunya, a government that believes in companies and provides them a platform to achieve international projection.
Fashion, as it is widely know, is about culture and lives intensely in the city of Barcelona. Custo Barcelona, Mango, Desigual and many more local brands will partecipate at the event.

080 Barcelona Fashion organizes the second edition of the 080 Design Contest a contest in collaboration with a number of Catalan fashion design schools. This competition will provide 080 Barcelona Fashion’s own merchandising products.
In this second edition, 080 Barcelona Fashion‘s bag will be selected, a unisex shopping bag. It will be on sale as from the next edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion that will take place in January 2013. All info on the official webpage of the 080 Barcelona Fashion.

FadFest, Barcelona Design Festival 2012

From 26 June to 12 July, Barcelona will be the international capital of creativity and design with FADfest.
FADfest is the FAD’s annual event celebrating creative excellence. It recognises the work of professionals and businesses and brings design closer to the citizens.

Fadfest 2012, Barcelona Design

A showcase in which to discover the best proposals of the year in architecture, interior design, graphic design, advertising, industrial design, the handicrafts, art and fashion that is held in Barcelona between 26 June and 12 July as part of the Barcelona Design Festival, which continues until October 2012.

This is the most important design meeting in Barcelona. The FAD awards will be presented at the festival, where more than 500 works by the finalists will go on display. To enjoy the works of the winners and finalists in the different prizes, you’ll have to visit the “FADexpo: the best design of the year”, which will remain open until 22 september at the FAD headquarters (Pl. dels Àngels 5-6 of Barcelona). The second edition of the FADfest will be a fortnight filled with prizes, conferences, debates, talks and many other activities connected with design.

Three numbers represent the new trends in the fashion world in Barcelona. The 080 has been consolidated through the last editions as one of the greatest fashion festival of the city, thanks to the quality of its invited artists, catwalks and activities.

This year’s program includes names such as TCN, Alexis Reyna, Brain&Beast, Cela Vela, Der Metropol, Josep Abril, Juan Pedro López, Justicia Ruano, Karlotalaspalas and 13 more. All of them will bring fresh ideas to the market to encourage the evolution of this sector, already well established in Catalonia.

Simultaneously to the catwalks, the 080 will also organize other activities. Here we mention some of them:

In the 25th of January, it will take place the first 080 T-Shirt contest, with the participation of students and old students from the main design schools of Barcelona. The winner T-shirt will be on sale during the next year’s 080 edition.

During the second day, you will be able to enjoy a makeup workshop (11.15h) and a hairdressing work shop (12.30h).  If you are interested in the makeup one, attend the event in advance to ensure you have place.

In the 28th of January, the 080 will hold a Master Class by Pierre Cardin, considered the most visionary, business-talented and cultural producer of our century.
