The terraces are the perfect spot to watch the city life on first row… Also there are many in which you can have amazing food. The best part is the ritual about the tapas, you go there and share the food with your friends while you have a beer or a glass of wine, then you hop to another tapas bar, and try some more, in the meantime you talk and socialize, it’s really fun.
The spirits are always high in Madrid; summer seems as a happy mood season. Madrilènes are always happy, friendly and willing to give you a hand, they help you find your way in the city, and they are very fun and they do their best to communicate with you.
Whenever the temperature gets too high, you can always go to a public pool, with a good layout in different spots in the city, but the bes solution, of course, it’s renting a top apartement with private pool.

It’s true that Madrid does not have a beach, but having the “Parque del Retiro“ in the middle of the city, you won’t miss it. It is an amazing natural site, has a great pond in the middle with fantastic sculptures all around. In the summer, under the shade of a tree is another great spot to enjoy Madrid. And if you like sports, feel free to practice your favourite, there’s plenty of room!

But if you like culture you are in the perfet city: the three painting stars Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofia and Museo Thyssen Bornemisza form what is known as the Triangle of Arts.

The Prado Museum in Madrid

If you have decided to visit Spain, with its bright colors, its passionate music and its people funny and friendly, you can’t miss Madrid, the real capital of Spain’s soul. And one of the place which holds the essence of Spain is certainly the Prado Museum.

Prado Museum Madrid

The Prado Museum in Madrid ranks right up there with Paris’s Louvre, Florence’ s Uffizzi or Vatican Museums for the quality, breadth and renown of its collection. Just over 3,000 of the paintings in the Prado’s possession were commissioned by Spanish royalty, but the collection totals over 8,500. The building is enormous by most measures – visitors tend to be overwhelmed by the size – yet it is only capable of holding about 14% of the museum’s stock. Renovations are underway to enlarge the building and find a home for thousands of stowed away masterpieces.
The permanent collection is divided into 8 main categories on 2 floors: Spanish painting (1100-1850), Italian painting (1300-1800), Flemish painting (1430-1700), French painting (1600-1800), German painting (1450-1800), sculpture, decorative arts and drawings & prints.

The building that today houses the Museo Nacional del Prado was designed by architect Juan de Villanueva in 1785. The Museo Nacional del Prado, opened to the public for the first time in November 1819. The Museum’s first catalogue, published in 1819, included 311 paintings, although at that time its collection comprised just over 1,510 pictures from the various Reales Sitios (Royal Residences). The exceptionally important royal collection, which represents the foundation of the Museum’s collection as we know it today, started to increase significantly in the 16th century during the time of Charles V and continued to thrive under the succeeding Habsburg and Bourbon Monarchs. It is down to them than nowadays we can contemplate in the Museum as greatest masterpieces as The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosh, The Nobleman with his hand on his Chest by El Greco, Death of the Virgin by Mantegna, The Holy Family known as The Pearl by Raphael, Emperor Carlos V on Horseback by Titian, The Foot Washing by Tintoretto, Self-portrait by Durër , Las Meninas by Velázquez, The Three Graces by Rubens, and The Family of Carlos IV by Goya. The last name of this great trio is Bisutex, which presents the season news of the Fashion Jewellery and Accessories for professionals and fashion lovers. Through the categories glasses, belts, foulards, watches, hats, etc. the fair makes sure every single complement is covered.

This event is a good opportunity for the companies to show their new products to the clients, discover the competitor’s offer, and start business with important companies. It is also a good way to test the reaction of the potential target in front of proposals that aren’t in the market yet, and, obviously, a way to keep being alive through the media channels that are going to broadcast the whole GifTrends.

If you are planning to attend this major fashion celebration in Madrid, the best accommodation option are the Madrid holiday apartments placed in different areas, some of them really close to the IFEMA pavilion. These flats will give you the space, freedom and privacy you need to relax and work, mixing the enjoyable time out to break your day to day with the professional agenda in the fair.

Holidays with children in Madrid

Some days ago, we were talking about things to do with children in Barcelona. Although we exposed plenty of proposals, we also want to talk about the sweetest face of Madrid, another city to visit with the whole family.

If you are already thinking in your days in the Spanish capital, you could have a look to the luxury apartments we have available in the city, with amazing views and in different locations and areas. The little ones are going to love their space and comfort.

Madrid With Kids

Madrid With Kids

The first option we recommend for the children-planning is spending some hours in El Retiro. This park, located in a centric part of Madrid, is a green lung where easily fancies an ice-cream or a boat trip. During the weekend, you can find some children animations such as music or puppetries.

A good way to introduce children to the Madrid’s history is by a special middle age train that belongs to the Renfe company, and includes guided visits to the city, with old fashioned dressed guides. It is, definitely, a different and attractive way to catch the attention of the little ones and make them interested in the city.

We also recommend buying the “Madrid Card”, which will become your “passport” to most of the celebrity places, museums and attractions. Some of them, the wax museum,  the Planetarium or the Zoo.

An option that may fascinate both children and adults is the Warner Bros. amusement park. It is inspired in the great cartoon characters, and it will, for sure, make a funny day full of emotions and excitement.

If you are looking for a different way to eat your meals in the city, you can get to the Madrid’s Ham Museum and try some of the very best quality ham slices, at the same time all you learn about this Spanish treasure.

Madrid is a city to walk around with children, quite and welcoming. The weather of Spain and the rich touristic marvels, make this city a perfect destiny.

Find out how you can achieve the “five stars” holiday in your own apartment, checking the city centre flats to rent, and fall in love with their impressive pictures.
