What will you find in Palau Robert?
During your visit to Barcelona, you will surely stroll along Paseo de Gracia, one of the most emblematic streets of the city. There are important buildings of Antoni Gaudí that in many occasions overshadow other precious buildings like, for example, Palau Robert. This palace is located at number 107 of the aforementioned walk, just on the corner with Avenida Diagonal.
This building was built between 1898 and 1903 as the private residence of the Marquis de Robert, whose name was Robert Robert i Surís. He was an influential, financial and political aristocrat who came from Girona.
In 1997 it was inaugurated as “Palau Robert. Information Center of Catalonia”. A place to gather exhibitions, publications, concerts and other activities. That is, the same as it is today. There are interesting exhibitions for free, so if you are interested in the culture of Barcelona, in this place you will find good plans.
Thus, there you will find three exhibition halls, a space for concerts, the Information Center of Catalonia, a tourism office in the city, a bookshop and gardens open to the public. These gardens are especially ideal for the spring and summer, since you can take shelter from the heat and the crowds under its trees.
