SUMMIT BARCELONA

The first World Textile Summit is to take place on 21 September 2011 in Palau de Congresos de Catalunya in Barcelona. This marks the first joint initiative of the International Textile Manufacturing Federation (ITMF) and CEMATEX, the owner of the world’s leading textile machinery exhibition, ITMA.

This unique event will draw together textile-industry leaders and some of the world’s most influential thinkers and policymakers in strategically important fields such as economics, trade, technology and sustainability. The keynote speaker will be Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Kofi Anan. This event is relevant for business leaders, executives and analysts as well as suppliers of products and services and also policymakers in governments and institutions across the globe that are connected to the industry.

The city is looking forward to welcoming thousands of international visitors around this time as the summit has been called to coincide ITMA 2011 (from 22- 29 September), which is the 60th Anniversary edition of the show, and the day after the ITMF (International Textile Manufacturing Federation) Annual Conference.
